Mode Moderne Sign to Light Organ Records

Ever since Light Organ Records started up late last year, the Vancouver-based imprint has been pumping up its local scene. Early releases shone the spotlight on B.C.-based acts like Louise Burns and Sun Wizard, and now the label has hooked in another lotusland band: Mode Moderne. The moody goth act have announced they've inked a deal with the imprint.

In fact, the act will issue their new seven-inch single "Real Goths"/"Undiscovered Country" today (June 14) via Light Organ. The single follows the group's darkly romantic self-released debut, 2009's Ghost Emerging, and hones in on a "pulsing electro beat, haunting stabs of guitar and synth, and [singer Phillip] Intilé's signature self-deprecating croon," according to the press release.

The single is but a taste of what's to come, though. A sophomore full-length is expected sometime this fall.
