Miracle Fortress

"Raw Spectacle" (video)

Following the release of last year's electro gem Was I Wave?, Montreal's Miracle Fortress (aka Graham Van Pelt) has unveiled a fiery new video for album highlight "Raw Spectacle."

In a statement, director Emily Kai Bock explained the concept behind the intriguing clip, which sees Pelt fleeing his town (and friends) with his hands ablaze.

"I wanted to make a surreal narrative video using Graham as the lead character," she said. "I had been watching a lot of X-Files and had finished a short doc on ex-prisoners integrating into community at the time, so I had these themes of outcasts and aliens on my mind."

As the clip relies solely on pyrotechnics rather than visual effects, both Pelt and Bock suffered a couple of minor burns during filming, but Bock maintains, "It was more fun that way."

Check out the result below.

To wrap up the month, Miracle Fortress will be playing a series of shows in Quebec with Coeur de Pirate. All the dates are also below.
