We've already heard a Brian Wilson-featuring cut from Mini Mansions' upcoming album The Great Pretenders, and now the Los Angeles band — which features Michael Shuman of Queens of the Stone — have tapped another famous friend for their latest track: "Vertigo" features Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner.
This vintage-style pop song begins with a swoon of synthesized strings and tinkling pianos, but once the beat enters it gives the arrangement a swaggering undercurrent of hip-hop. Turner takes over on the mic in the second verse, and he adds a dash of thickly-British-accented charisma to the cryptic lyrics.
Hear it below. The Great Pretenders is due out on March 23 Electromagnetic Recordings/Capitol Records. "Vertigo" is additionally available on 7-inch with a B-side featuring Fred Schneider of the B-52s.
