L.A. party punks Mika Miko have announced that they'll be releasing a brand new album this spring. The bizarrely titled We Be Xuxa will be released on May 5, and will be the first full-length since 2006's breakthrough C.Y.S.L.A.B.F..
The album is coming out on No Age drummer Dean Spunt's taste-making label, Post Present Medium, and a press release suggests that it "expands on their remarkable songwriting skills, mixing great riffs with simple ideas, melody with speed, while sending you into a mind-melting frenzy." The record was recorded at the Distillery in Costa Mesa by Mike McHugh, whose track record includes Black Lips, Le Shok and Lightning Bolt. Xuxa will also mark the first recorded appearance of new drummer Seth Densham.
The band currently have three shows lined up for this year's SXSW music festival:
3/19 Austin, TX PPM SXSW Showcase @ Red 7 w/ Abe Vigoda and Gun Outfit, etc
3/21 Austin, TX Panache Booking SXSW Showcase @ The Mohawk w/ Health, Monotonix, Pre
3/22 Austin, TX Panache Booking Day Party @ Beerland w/ AIDS Wolf, Past Lives
