Early AC/DC and Rose Tattoo are two comparative references that any sane band would pay good money to have brought up in a review. Good news, Midnight Evils, this ones on me! Full-throttle heavy guitar rock fronted by sandpaper-mean vocals that sound genetically criminal (read: Australian rock reference) is what this ballistic combo is all about. "Bad Machine" gets the party going quicker than a call to the bootlegger on speed-dial while the tasty grooves of "Gone to the Dogs" and the title track keep things revved while giving possible clues to the whereabouts of Nashville Pussy's lost mojo. This album proves that when they're done right, fast songs with wah-wah guitar solos and lyrics about rock and roll, crazy women and booze just never get tired.
