After being arrested for domestic assault last week, Michelle Branch has filed for divorce from her husband Patrick Carney of the Black Keys.
According to court documents obtained by the Los Angeles Times on Monday (August 15), Branch filed for divorce on August 12 in Davidson County, TN. In her filing, she cites "irreconcilable differences" between her and the drummer.
Branch is seeking child support and primary custody of their two children, four-year-old Rhys James and six-month-old Willie Jacquet. The court documents state that she will allow Carney to have "reasonable parenting time" with their kids. The former couple are also required to complete a parenting court, as is customary in Davidson county [via TMZ].
The court documents state that Branch is asking Carney to pay for both of their legal fees.
On August 11, Branch accused Carney of cheating on her with his manager in a since-deleted tweet. She was arrested the same day after reportedly slapping Carney in the face. She was released on $1,000 USD bail, and is set to appear in court in November.
