Mika Posen has bolstered the sound of beloved Canadian artists like Timber Timbre, Forest City Lovers, Feist, Basia Bulat and Evening Hymns with her beautiful string arrangements, but she's ready to take centre stage with her solo project Merganzer. Her debut record under the new moniker is titled Mirror Maze and Exclaim! is streaming the album in its entirety a week before its official release.

We've already heard the mesmerizing title track and "Ganz Grosses Kino," and now they're accompanied by eight other songs that come together to create a collection whose soundscapes range from darkly haunting to upbeat and ethereal.

The arrangements on Mirror Maze were composed using a customized "Mikatron" machine, manipulating 90 samples of Posen's violins into melodious pop experiments. You can hear the uniquely charming results by giving the album an advanced listen in the player below.

Mirror Maze is out on November 24, and Posen will make her live debut as Merganzer with a three-piece band at Toronto's Burdock Music Hall on November 26.
