Formed just over two years ago in Guelph, ON and now based in Toronto, Memoryhouse have quickly risen through the indie ranks to become one of the main purveyors of contemporary dream pop. The duo signed to Sub Pop in 2011 and released their first full-length, The Slideshow Effect, last February.
For this Exclaim! TV session, producer/songwriter Evan Abeele and singer Denise Nouvion perform a stripped-down version of "All Our Wonder" off The Slideshow Effect. The album version of the track features shining keys and is awash in hazy reverb, but here Abeele is armed only with an acoustic guitar and Nouvion's bittersweet vocals take centre stage.
Festival-goers can catch Memoryhouse this weekend at Hillside Festival in Guelph, ON and again in August at Osheaga in Montreal.
