Toronto-based R&B songstress Melanie Durrant returns with Anticipation next week, but you can stream the new album in advance right here at Exclaim.ca.
The Juno Award-nominated singer has spent the last few years piecing together the new album, and win or lose, the nominations reflect her hard work and natural talent.
According to a recent press release, Durrant's vocal approach on the new record sees the singer "mastering her control of cadence and delivery," while showcasing both power and tenderness.
The 11 new tracks see Durrant working with a range of producers, including homegrown talent like Kuya, Beatchild and Mo'Jointz. Songs range from old-timey soul ("Life Goes On," "Four Seasons") to jazz-infused R&B ("By Your Side") to catchy, seductive tunes like "Wait."
The Anticipation will end on February 17, when the record arrives independently thorugh Durrant's own Melo-D's Inc., but if you can't wait any longer, give the album a listen in its entirety right now, in the player below.
UPDATE: This stream was available for one week only and is no longer available.
