Marnie Stern and Tera Melos Join Forces for Co-headlining Tour

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jan 6, 2011

It seems as if Marnie Stern got more press this fall for talking trash than for her self-titled third album. Regardless of how awesome the guitarist's latest pop-laced, bizarre shred-fest was, it was embarrassingly more interesting to keep up with the war of words between Stern and pop punk "it" couple Bethany Cosentino (Best Coast) and Nathan Williams (Wavves). As exciting as the battle was, Stern has decided to tame her tongue for the moment and get back to what's important: the music. And with that, she's just announced a new tour.

A co-headlining trip with genre-splicing Sacramento rockers Tera Melos will find Stern on the road in February and March, with Canadian stops in Montreal and Toronto.

While Tera Melos recently released their punk-jazz full-length Patagonian Rats, the trio of musical virtuosos will also have a new EP for sale on the trip. A press release for the tour announced that the six-song Zoo Weather EP will be due out sometime in February on Sargent House. While a tracklisting hasn't been revealed, the set will contain three new songs and three remixed tracks from Patagonian Rats, including a contribution from Japanese noise-punk legends Melt Banana.
