Who are you? Mark Heise, songwiter/ guitarist/ singer for Men of Wealth and Taste.
What are you up to? About 6'0".
Hometown and current HQ: Regina, SK.
Current fixations: Outlaw country, AC/DC, old sci-fi and horror movies.
Mind altering work of art (not your own): Ramones S/T LP.
Most memorable/inspirational gig and why? Headlining a rally against tuition increases at the University of Regina. Kind of ridiculous considering none of us give a shit about students.
What should everyone shut up about? Everyone else's problems.
Your greatest strength and weakness: My easy going manner.
Your vital daily ritual: Spending as much time with my girlfriend and listening to as much music as possible.
Guilty pleasure: Cigarettes, and that filthy American Budweiser.
If I wasn't playing music I would be: Listening to it at home and checking out live bands.
Your most memorable day job: My current job, computer consultant.
Best/worst advice received: Best: You're as young as you feel. Worst: Be an accountant.
I would drop everything to play a benefit for: Free beer.
What makes you want to take it off and get it on? My girlfriend Joanne.
What personal trait would make you kick someone out of your band? And have you? Lack of musical ability, yes.
When I think of Canada I think: I think about the mooks that embrace the mockery we recieve from the US, as if it's something stand up and be proud of, "No Doubt Aboot It!"
Music and sex: Is there a difference? Why? I enjoy them both and they accompany each other quite nicely, but what kind of question is this?
Strangest brush with celebrity: Standing outside the Columbia Hotel in Vancouver on our first tour. Grant Lawrence came to see us, and gave me $10 for our $6 CD because he felt sorry for us having to play such a wretched place.
What does your mom wish you were doing instead? Spending more time with her.
