The Makers identity crisis continues on their latest release. Everybody Rise! has one foot in the bands garage past and one foot in its glam present. On pop ballads such as "Promises for Tomorrow and "Run with Me Tonight, the group show tuneful sophistication. Other songs, however, attempt to reignite the Makers rocknroll fuse but ultimately fizzle. For the most part, subdued rasps have replaced the groups snarls. Everybody Rise! features some well-written songs, but its stability is weakened by standing on uneven ground.
