M83 Reveals 'Hurry Up, We're Dreaming' Album Details

BY Josiah HughesPublished Jul 19, 2011

French electro shoegazer M83 (aka Anthony Gonzalez) has been hyping up his follow-up to 2008's Saturdays = Youth for months, but we still haven't heard many details on the project. Now, finally, the album title and tracklisting have been made available.

The record is called Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, and as promised, it's a 22-track double album featuring guest appearances from Zola Jesus, Medicine's Brad Laner and Beck/Nine Inch Nails collaborator Justin Meldal-Johnson.

In a press release, Gonzalez admits that the Smashing Pumpkins' Melon Collie and the Infinite Sadness was a major influence on the scope of Hurry Up, We're Dreaming, saying, "I saw when I was a teenager that I could dig into [the album]. It was like a treasure. If I were a teenager nowadays, I would try to find something as creative as this album. They had so much to say in their songs."

Hurry Up, We're Dreaming will be available on October 18 via Mute. The song "Midnight City" can be downloaded here or streamed below.

As previously reported, M83 will also be embarking on an enormous North American tour, the dates of which can be viewed here.
