It turns out that M83 has more than just a major Hollywood soundtrack in the pipeline. Anthony Gonzalez's project just became to latest musical act to design a shoe, as the electro-loving Frenchman teamed up with Converse to create his own pair of Chuck Taylor All Stars.
You can see the design above and look at more pictures here. Unlike many of the other artists to make their own shoes -- such as Animal Collective, Bon Iver, Gorillaz and Kanye West -- Gonzalez opted to go the route of Matt and Kim and Beastie Boys by prominently featuring his band's name on the side of the sneakers. It appears to be a constellation of stars that spells out "M83," which is an appropriate enough image for the act's celestial music.
In addition to designing the shoe, Converse and M83 have launched a contest asking fans to create a piece of art inspired by last year's Hurry Up, We're Dreaming and its songs. Up to three winners will have their designs used on official M83 posters and will receive customized M83 sneakers. Learn more about the contest here, and watch a promotional clip for the campaign below.
