Most memorable or inspirational gig and why?
Fuji rock festival in Japan because of everything, and in particular the crowd.

What has been your career high and low?
The high was finishing Alright On Top and the low was two legal disputes with two record labels.

What should everyone shut up about?
Anti-smoking, internet regulations i.e., government trying to control it, vegetarianism.

I would drop everything to play a benefit for:
Underprivileged kids.

What trait do you like and dislike most about yourself?
I like my self belief. I dislike my insecurity.

What would make you kick someone out of your band and/or bed, and have you?
I'd kick a girl out if she started taking photographs and I've done that. I never kicked anyone out of the band because I usually piss them off and they leave for a while anyway.

When I think of Canada I think of:
Steve Martin and John Candy and South Park.

What is your vital daily ritual?
Muesli

How do you spoil yourself?
With electronics.

What was your most memorable day job?
Green grocer.

If I wasn't playing music I would be:
The actor.

What is your greatest fear?
Wasps.

If you had a superpower, what would it be?
Make people say exactly what they think and ban guns in Texas.

What makes you want to take it off and get it on?
It takes someone special to do that.

Music and sex: Is there a difference? Why?
You can play music continuously all day.

Strangest brush with celebrity:
After a party in New Orleans, two girls come up to me and my tour manager and said to me "Would you like to come back to our place? Nothing slutty or anything!" I said "sorry, we only hang out with sluts," to which she said "Of course! We totally understand, see you later."

Who would be your ideal dinner guest, living or dead, and what would you serve them?
Hannibal Lecter and I would serve him a Hari Krishna vegan meal.

What does your mom wish you were doing instead?
My mum has always thought I am completely off the rails and she enjoys it,
