Vancouver songwriter Louise Burns has recently been teasing her new record Portraits, and now she's pulled back the curtain on all the album details, as well as given us a new teaser track. What's more, Burns has mapped out a Canadian fall tour.

Portraits will arrive on November 8 via Light Organ Records. And while we've already heard the album track "Just Walk Away," you can now hear "Clowns" down below.

As Burns explains, the album was birthed in Los Angeles.

"L.A. is a very specific place for me," she said in a statement. "It reminds me of some really bittersweet memories — some really happy ones and some really awful ones. This record was about embracing my past rather than trying to hide it or be self-deprecating. It's okay for me to feel proud of having done all this weird shit when I was really young."

As for "Clowns," she said, "It's a song about feeling like a weirdo while trying to make your way in the world."

Portraits features an array of guests, including Damian Taylor (Arcade Fire, the Killers), Stint (Carly Rae Jepsen, Santigold), Jasper Leak (Sia), Matt Robertson (Björk), David Prowse (Japandroids) and Hannah Georgas.
