Lorde returned from a social media blackout yesterday morning (June 16), revealing she's working on the follow-up to 2017's Melodrama.

Yesterday marked the second anniversary since the release of Melodrama, and after thanking fans for "your love for it and your willingness to go there with me and to dance the way we did together" in an Instagram story, she gave followers an update on what she's been up to since her world tour ended and how much she's grown up.

"I was such a baby making that work, lots of emotions and learning so much all the time," she reflected. "Feels like I've grown a lot since then, I've been to Antarctica, I have a dog now and a cat and I can bake bread and cook dinner and keep plants alive, etc."

She continued, "It's a good life you've given me. Thankyou thankyou. Third one in the oven."

She also thanked Jack Antonoff, who collaborated and produced with Lorde on Melodrama, though it seems like he may have had a hand in her third album, as well.

Late last year, Lorde hinted that bits and pieces of new music were coming together as she learned to play piano.

"I think this next one will probably be born around the piano in my house, me and my friends, keeping it simple," she said at the time. "But we'll see."
