Coming off his 2015 collaborative LP with Todd Rundgren and Emil Nikolaisen, Norwegian producer Lindstrøm has announced he'll be dropping an EP on his own this summer. While there's a few months to go before he gives up the set in full, he's just unveiled sparkly first single, "Closing Shot."
The space disco master is at the top of his game with the new tune, which comes bursting with a punchy digital drum beat, rhythmic sonar pings, house-style hi-hat, popped arpeggios, and various '80s-geared synth breaks. It's a sweaty, gleeful excursion and hopefully a good idea as to what we can expect from Lindstrøm's latest.
"Closing Shot" is streaming below and can be purchased on March 11. Though a title has yet to be grafted to the release, Lindstrøm's new EP is due July 8 through Smalltown Supersound/Feedelity Recordings.
