Last month, we learned that Amber Webber and Josh Wells will deliver their third Lightning Dust LP, Fantasy, on June 25 through Jagjaguwar. Now, the band have announced a few concert dates to support their latest set, which has now spawned its first music video.
The duo's summer tour plans begin in Calgary on July 24. The next night, they'll play another Canadian gig in Edmonton, but the rest of the band's onstage activity this summer will take place beneath the border. You'll find the details down below.
Lightning Dust have also just premiered the video for their previously teased album track "Diamond." Filmed at a public pool, the clip for the shimmering soft-pop song showcases the choreographed kicks and splashes of a slowly growing synchronized swim team. You'll find the aquatic clip, directed by Helen Reed, beneath the concert dates.
As previously reported, Fantasy allegedly "finds its inspiration in skeletal synth pop, modern R&B beats, the films of John Carpenter and... absolute minimalism." The 10-song set was recorded by the pair at their Balloon Factory studio in Vancouver.
Tour dates:
7/24 Calgary, AB - Palomino Smokehouse
7/25 Edmonton, AB - Brixx
8/1 Seattle, WA - The Crocodile
8/2 Happy Valley, OR - Pickathon
8/4 Happy Valley, OR - Pickathon
8/6 San Francisco, CA - Brick & Mortar Music Hall
8/7 Santa Ana, CA - Constellation Room
8/8 Los Angeles, CA - The Echo
8/9 San Diego, CA - Casbah
