Montreal electro outfit Le Couleur are set to unveil a new EP titled Dolce Désir next week, but you can give it an advanced listen on Exclaim.ca.
The new set of songs marks the follow-up to the dance-friendly three-piece's 2013 Voyage Love EP, and maintains the "forward thinking Franco-pop sensibilities" that endeared listeners to them in the first place. The new recordings also see the band fully giving in to their "romantic disco visions of yore," though, delivering music that takes its inspiration from the likes of Todd Terje and Giorgio Moroder.
The disco-heavy, club-ready songs blend soaring, sparkling synth beats with the dreamy, seductive Francophone vocals of Laurence Giroux-Do. Rounding out the lineup, Steeven Chouinard and Patrick Gosselin are the brains behind the beats.
Both an homage to vintage greats and a fresh take modern club music, Dolce Désir is officially out on February 17 via Lisbon Lux Records. You can give it an early listen in the player below — though just make sure you've got your dancing shoes handy.
You can also experience the new material live at the trio's upcoming shows, including a hometown album launch at La Nuit Blanche on February 28. You can see the details below.
Tour dates:
02/24 New York, NY - Pianos *
02/26 Toronto, ON - The Piston *
02/28 Montreal, QC - La Nuit Blanche
* with Beat Market
