Laura Sauvage Unveils 'Extraordinormal' Album

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Feb 29, 2016

After introducing herself last fall with the release of the Americana Subamrine EP, Montreal-based music maker Laura Sauvage (a.k.a. Vivianne Roy) has announced plans for a full-length follow-up. Emerging into stores March 25 through Simone Records, the album is titled Extraordinormal.

A press release notes that the collection was cut during "a week of seclusion" at Saint-Zénon, QC's Wild Studio. The sessions found the artist working alongside bassist and co-producer Dany Placard, drummer Mathieu Vezio, guitarist Olivier Langevin and keyboard player Ben Bouchard. The set is described as mixing Sauvage's "clever songwriting" with a love for "slacker"-style indie rock, with key influences including Wilco, Julie Doiron and Neil Young.

Down below, you'll find a stream of the record's first single, "Rubberskin."

In addition to the LP news, Laura Sauvage has also announced North American tour dates supporting Patrick Watson and Aidan Knight, as well as an Extraordinormal record release party in Montreal. You'll find the details below as well.
