Broken Social Scene singer Ariel Engle very recently teamed up with Efrim Manuel Menuck on the post-rock project ALL HANDS_MAKE LIGHT, who released their album "Darling the Dawn" back in April. Now, she's also announced an LP from her solo project La Force: XO Skeleton will be out September 29 via Secret City Records.
The album is a reflection on death, and its title track was inspired by a phone call with a life insurance broker. "For years I couldn't look at a night sky because I couldn't contemplate eternity," Engle said in a statement.
Some of its nine songs, including lead single "condition of us," came from a pandemic-era song-a-day songwriting club that also included Feist, Maggie Rogers, Beck and others.
