Korn Reveal 'The Serenity of Suffering,' Premiere Super Gothy New Video

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Jul 22, 2016

As Korn continue their "Return of the Dreads" summer tour with Rob Zombie, the Bakersfield, CA nu-metal unit have announced they're also set to return with a new LP. Going by the juxtaposed title The Serenity of Suffering, the band's 12th full-length is due October 12 via Roadrunner.

The album follows 2013's The Paradigm Shift and was produced by Nick Raskulinecz (Foo Fighters, Deftones). Beyond the core of Korn, Slipknot vocalist Corey Taylor joined the rap-rock vets on the record's "A Different World."

Earlier in the year, longtime drop-tune guitarist Brian "Head" Welch had explained that the sessions had the group pondering 'What is Korn?' A riddle of the ages, for sure, but one the act have apparently answered.

"I feel like we've got the Korn sound and vibe, but we've also captured the intensity of what Korn always has been," Welch had previously told Rolling Stone, adding, "It's the most intense, energetic Korn record in 10 years or more."

The new album is being teased with a music video for its "Rotting in Vain." It stars Sons of Anarchy's Tommy Flanagan as a dapper, booze-and-gas-enjoying goth guy, just relaxing at home with his Poe-esque pet raven. The abode is also infested with Korn members, who jam on the track from various decrepit, peeled-paint rooms.

You can watch the video below. There, you'll also discover the tracklisting info for The Serenity of Suffering, and their remaining dates with Rob Zombie.
