Kode9 Next Up to Get His Own DJ-Kicks

As !K7 forges on as a label, they continue to attract some of the world's best electronic musicians for their DJ-Kicks series. After the recently announced Juan Maclean contribution to the series, which is due in April, dubstep peddler Kode9 has revealed he'll be contributing a mix as well.

For the uninitiated, Kode9 is the stage name of Steve Goodman, a London-based university professor and electronic musician who also runs the highly influential Hyperdub imprint. Goodman announced the mix earlier today (March 29) on Twitter, with the simple statement "news flash: kode9 mix for k7 dj kicks series - out in june."

We've heard these things before, and got our hopes up for comps that never materialized (that means you, Flying Lotus and Burial). To prove he's serious, however, Goodman posted the album's cover to his Kode9 MySpace page and we've put it up there above.

Goodman's most recent release was his non-fiction book Sonic Warfare: Sound, Affect, and the Ecology of Fear, which was released in December. More info on that can be found here.
