Kodak Black has been sentenced to 46 months in prison after pleading guilty to federal weapons charges.
The Miami Herald reports that the rapper, born Bill K. Kapri, could have received a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. The state requested 46 to 57 months, while the rapper's lawyers had urged for 37 to 44 months.
Kodak Black was arrested on May 11 ahead of a performance at Miami's Rolling Loud festival. Though he was released on $550,000 bond and house arrest days later (May 15), federal prosecutors appealed the decision, with a judge deeming the rapper to be "a danger to the community."
Black was found guilty of lying on a background form while trying to buy firearms in Florida on two separate occasions. In the paperwork, the rapper had indicated that he was "not under indictment or information in any court for a felony, or any other crime for which the judge could imprison him for more than one year."
At the time of his arrest in Miami, Kodak Black was out on bond after being indicted on sexual assault charges stemming from an alleged incident in 2016. Following today's news, he posted a photo to Instagram with the caption, "Hold It Down While I'm On Lock. Calling Shots From The Box #Literally."
In April, Kodak Black was arrested at the U.S./Canada border for possessing marijuana and firearms, which led to him cancelling Canadian tour dates.
