These days, ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante and ex-Mars Volta axeman Omar Rodríguez-López are playing together in the genre-crossing six-piece Kimono Kult, and with their Hiding in the Light EP due out tomorrow (March 4) through Neurotic Yell Records, the four-song collection is available to stream now.
The EP is a hell of a lot more eclectic than the music Frusciante used to make with the Chili Peppers, since it mixes jarring electronic experimentation with Spanish-language lyrics, intricate orchestrations, avant-jazz instrumentation and more. In other words, "Under the Bridge" it ain't.
Stream it below [via Consequence of Sound]. It's available to pre-order digitally from Bandcamp.
