Not only is Kingfisher Bluez throwing a Christmas party, the Vancouver label is releasing a charity 7-inch. This is the third year in the Kingfisher Bluez Christmas Village singles series, and this year's instalment is an original tune called "Santa Knows (I've Been Bad)" by Kim Gray.
Gray is a member of Vancouver garage combo Skinny Kids, and "Santa Knows" isn't too radical of a departure from his usual sound. Although the sweet backing vocals and classic chord progression suggest vintage '50s pop, this sonic eggnog is spiked with hazy reverb and gritty distortion.
