This week sees the release of Kim Gordon's new Body/Head project's debut LP Coming Apart, but fans of the iconic bassist can now also look forward to a forthcoming memoir detailing her early life, up to the point when Sonic Youth were founded.
An interview with the New York Times notes that the autobiography, tentatively titled Girl in a Band, is being penned for HarperCollins. A due date has not yet been delivered, but Publishers Weekly had previously noted that the book will "chronicle [Gordon's] choice to leave Los Angeles in the early '80s for the post-punk scene in New York City, where she formed Sonic Youth."
Additionally, it's also been revealed that Gordon will have a collection of essays she wrote for arts and culture magazines back in the '80s published by Sternberg Press. A date has not yet been revealed for that publication either.
Marking a return to the small screen following Sonic Youth's 2009 appearance on Gossip Girl, it was also recently revealed that Gordon will appear in the next season of HBO series Girls.
Body/Head's Coming Apart, meanwhile, drops tomorrow (September 10) through Matador Records. You can stream Gordon and Bill Nace's mind-bending "Actress" down below.
