Though the Breeders are currently out on the road celebrating the 20th anniversary of their Last Splash, frontwoman Kim Deal is also undertaking less retrograde activities by issuing solo 7-inches. A third slab of vinyl has now arrived, and you can check out A-side "Are You Mine?" in a new music video.
The true love-questioning single unfurls subtly, with acoustic melodies and gentle tambourine hits supporting Deal's softly cooed ruminations ("Let me go where there's no memory of you / Where everything is new / And nothing is true").
You can hear Deal sing the song as a camera pans across a collection of porcelain figurines in the player down below.
"Are You Mine?" is out now and can be ordered here.
Update: As a reader has pointed out and this review appears to corroborate, "Are You Mine?" apparently deals with Deal's mother's battle with Alzheimer's disease
