Kid Twist

Here are three guys who've been around a few blocks in Central and Eastern Canada - Eugene Ripper (Stark Naked & the Fleshtones), Marty Coles (Uisce Beatha, Al Tuck) and Tim Stewart - but their enthusiasm for a raucous power trio format hasn't lessened with age. "New Attitude" is a barn-burner; "In My Head" a moody country surf song; "Link Wray" would be better if they didn't draw obvious comparisons in the title; Chris Church's violin works adds some surprising colour to "Shakin' On The Floor." This is the sound of pre-grunge rock and roll for pure joy, a basement band who push all the right buttons right around the time of last call.
