We're just a couple of weeks away from the June 5 release date of Kestrels' previously announced Sonic Unyon debut, A Ghost History. Now, the noisy Halifax indie pop unit have firmed up the details of that release and fleshed out their upcoming tour schedule.
The album, which will be available on CD, vinyl and digitally, will feature Ash guitarist Tim Wheeler on the track "Dumb Angel" and promises plenty of "satisfying shoegaze soundscapes." See the tracklist below, and check out the previously unveiled video for "The Past Rests" at the bottom of the page.
A press release notes that the band slaved over the album, recording the aforementioned "The Past Rests" a whopping 23 times in four different sessions before they were happy with the results. The album is said to include everything from "washed-out guitar" to "screeching crescendos" while exploring the "concepts of nostalgia and memory."
Scroll past the tracklist to see the band's upcoming North American tour schedule. This is just the beginning of Kestrels' live plans, as they plan to announce the dates for six more weeks of touring soon.
