Details regarding Kendrick Lamar's highly anticipated next album have been gradually trickling out, but fans may soon have something far more substantial to sink their teeth into: a new single is reportedly on the way very soon.
Although the good kid has yet to make the news official, various reports indicate that the single is due out Tuesday (September 23). According to sources on the Pulse Music Board [via Consequence of Sound], Interscope's website radio PlayIGA leaked the information. The listing has since been removed.
Some reports suggest that the song will be called "(i) (love myself)," while video production company watchLOUD tweeted that it would be called "I Love Myself." On the other hand, HipHop-N-More confirmed with "sources" that the song is actually called "I."
Reports have indicated that King Kendrick recorded around 40 songs for the new LP. He recently told Rolling Stone that the album would offer "aggression and emotion" and that Dr. Dre had worked on "a bunch of tracks."
UPDATE: Adding some more proof to the pile, Kendrick himself tweeted out the single art, which you can see above. As you'll notice, the song does indeed seem to be called simply "i."
