Another collaborative cut from the Divergent soundtrack has arrived ahead of the March 11 street date through Interscope, with Kendrick Lamar's "Backwards" featuring the Aussie psych-pop crew Tame Impala being the latest leak.
If you're a fan of the Down Under outfit, you'll instantly recognize the backdrop of floating sonics and falsetto vocals as being sampled from Lonerism's "Feels Like We Only Go Backwards." This time around, though, King Kendrick's gruff and grizzly bars are the main attraction and have the MC talking about living his life like a lyrical vigilante and throwing up a middle finger to a corrupt system. Elsewhere in his missive he uses the old maxim that the truth will set you free and caps the knowledge-bomb with an explosive "KABOOSH!"
