Kate Bush Returns to the Stage for First Concerts in 35 Years

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Mar 21, 2014

Sure to wow fans, Kate Bush has plotted her long-awaited return to the stage, having announced she'll be undertaking a 15-date residency at London's Hammersmith Apollo. This marks her first series of shows in 35 years.

Dubbed "Before the Dawn," the late summer residency was revealed by Bush on her website, where she noted: "I am delighted to announce that we will be performing some live shows this coming August and September. I hope you will be able to join us and I look forward to seeing you there."

The first performance is on August 26, with dates running off and on up until a closing concert on September 19. Ticket prices range from $90 to $250 before service charges and go on sale on March 28. You'll find the show schedule down below.

Bush's last tour, which was also her first, took place across Europe in 1979. Reflecting on the trip, Bush had told the Guardian in 2011 that the experience "was absolutely exhausting."

She explained: "By the end, I felt a terrific need to retreat as a person, because I felt that my sexuality — which in a way I hadn't really had a chance to explore myself — was being given to the world in a way which I found impersonal."

Bush's last LP was the Exclaim!-approved, winter-themed 50 Words for Snow.
