The already pricey world of sneaker collecting has hit a ridiculous low (or is it high?) with news that a pair of Kanye West's Air Yeezy 2's are currently going for $90,000 on eBay. For the record, the Nike shoes are supposedly retailing for around $245.
The sneakers haven't even hit the U.S. market yet (the street date is June 9), but people have already begun auctioning off their pre-sale pairs on the online auction house. As TMZ points out, the $90,000 bid is for the black and pink variation (pictured above). Interestingly, the seller notes to pick a size between 8 and 12, so perhaps they're sitting on a stockpile of these.
"Please do not ask about my source," the seller wrote suspiciously. A pair of wolf grey Air Yeezy 2's from the same seller is currently sitting at $3,100.
Elsewhere, the shoes are hovering around the $2,000 mark, which, considering the situation, seems at least a little more reasonable.
