It appears as though Justin Bieber is looking for new management. A report from Puck News claims that the pop star is "poking around for a new agency or manager" as he looks to end his contract with Scooter Braun.
The pair have been working together since Bieber's teeny bopper era, with Braun taking him on as a client at the very beginning of his career. Multiple sources in the report claim the two "haven't spoken in months," and that Bieber has involved lawyers in cutting his current contract with Braun short.
UPDATE (8/18, 12:50 p.m.): Both parties have denied that they are parting ways, according to the Daily Mail. Sources tell ET that "Justin and Scooter are still working together. Justin is not taking meetings to look for new management. The two recently worked on something together."
While the reason for the split hasn't been made public, Bieber has made some major changes since cancelling his world tour following his Ramsay Hunt Syndrome diagnosis last year. In the time since, he's switched lawyers, sold the rights to his music to pay off debt, fired his agency and began a partnership with Lou Taylor, a former manager of Britney Spears's conservatorship [via Consequence].
If you think Braun's name sounds familiar, it's because he's the same guy who acquired Taylor Swift's catalogue, leading to the Taylor's Version re-recordings. He has since sold the masters off elsewhere. If he now has the wrath of both the Swifties and Beliebers, we don't envy him.
