Julien's Daughter Return with New Song "Rockefeller"

It's the Winnipeg band's first piece of new music since 2021

Winnipeg five-piece Julien's Daughter are back with their first new single since 2021’s “The Dealer.”

Produced by House of Wonders' Adam Fuhr, the song is another piece of electrifying, nervy alt-rock that finds frontperson Emma Murphy navigating a public breakup.

"It's a song about how exhausting the breakup process can be. I wrote this song at a time when a lot of people were making different narratives about me and I was just trying to focus on healing," Murphy said in a statement. "It's about going through private matters in the public eye.”

“Can I have a secret? / Can I have a moment?” she sings over flailing, surging riffs and a tight, bouncy rhythm section. In 2021, Julien’s Daughter’s released their debut EP, The Static That Carries Over — we name it one of our favourite EPs of that year.
