With the Juliana Theory on their way to the major leagues, this six-song EP should be enjoyed, as it may be the last time they are able to get this creative and ambitious. Clocking in at over 27 minutes, the songs - written over the past few years but never recorded - showcase the band's more sombre, brooding and creative side. From the epic, Sunny Day Real Estate-esque orchestral meandering of "This is the End of Your Life" and "Piano Song" to the '80s pop new wave vibe of "Liability," and the swirling triple-edged guitar assault of "Breathing By Wires," Music From Another Room is the band's most thoroughly solid release. Fans of SDRE, Sense Field and Radiohead should especially take note.
