Who are you? Jonelle Aspa, a struggling musician in a small town in BC and a failing college student.
What are you up to? Obviously not much, I'm doing a poll on the internet.
Hometown and current HQ: Prince George, B.C. aka pigs gorge.
Current fixations: Anything Kathleen Hanna related, The Pixies, Sleater Kinney, myself.
Mind altering work of art (not your own): The song "Quarter to Three" by Sleater Kinney, or the new Le Tigre album or this painting my grama did (I'm a loser I know).
Most memorable/inspirational gig and why? Joan Jett in P.G. Jan. 7/2000. When I saw her on stage I thought that I could do anything. I knew then that I wanted to make music for the rest of my life.
What should everyone shut up about? The weather. It isn't all that interesting. That's about it though. I think people should talk more.
Your greatest strength and weakness: Strength - I'll get back to ya on that one. Weakness - I can't stop buying music. It's terribly addictive.
Your vital daily ritual: Get up, eat some porridge, read email, write a song, go to school, veg out.
Guilty pleasure: Joan Osborne.
If I wasn't playing music I would be: At Riverside in Vancouver.
Your most memorable day job: Babysitting screaming kids.
Best/worst advice received: Best - when in doubt, sing loud. Worst - be a dental hygienist, it pays really well.
I would drop everything to play a benefit for: Women's rehab clinic for my town. (we don't have one here yet).
What makes you want to take it off and get it on? Umm, what doesn't?
What personal trait would make you kick someone out of your band? And have you? Constant tardiness or bossyness, and no I haven't.
When I think of Canada I think: semi-openess, good hockey, cheesy humour, good indie bands.
Music and sex: Is there a difference? Why? Yes, most of the time I wear clothes while performing.
Strangest brush with celebrity: I got Valdi's autograph at the Smither's Midsummer Folk Fest about 11 years ago.
What does your mom wish you were doing instead? She wishes i would grow up and be a teacher.
