Earlier this week, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion offered up an animated video for their latest Meat and Bone single "Bag of Bones," but the band appeared in the flesh last night (January 11) to trot out another newer number, "Strange Baby," on Late Night with David Letterman.
The suave, leathers-and-dress-shirts-clad combo laid out a hard-chooglin' rhythm for the bulk of the cut, but things got especially electrifying once Spencer ran back to his amps and started conjuring '50s b-movie sounds with a nearby theremin.
The sci-fi-spiked tune apparently impressed the hell out of Letterman, who complimented the Blues Explosion with a hearty "That's it. No more! Paul, I think we have a winner." Decide for yourself if the Blues are number one by checking out the video down below.
