Jon and Roy to Bring Back That Summer Feeling with 'Let It Go'

BY Alex HudsonPublished May 15, 2012

Two years removed from the relaxed, summery vibes of 2010's Homes, the Victoria, BC-based Jon and Roy are looking to recapture that sunny feeling with this year's Let It Go. It's due out June 12 through Blue Heron Music/Warner Music Canada.

A press release promises that these "laid-back acoustic guitar riffs, toe-tapping rhythms, and made-for-sing-along lyrics" add up to "the perfect summer album." The LP is said to contain ska-style horns and acoustic riffs, with a selection of mellow tunes and more upbeat material.

For a taste of this, listen to the bubbly folk ditty "Vibrant Scene" right here (a previous version from singer-guitarist Jon Middleton's solo album is streaming at the bottom of the page).

Middleton said in a statement, "We felt much more free on this album. It was a very natural process in this way, similar to how we would approach a live show."
