Toronto songwriter John Southworth is bridging the Canadian-American border at Niagara Falls with his new double-album Niagara, but his new video for "Ode to the Morning Sky" takes us a couple hundred kilometres to the northwest to Orangeville, ON.
The song is a mellow, piano-based folk rock tune, while the accompanying self-directed video is a slightly bizarre one. It shows a football player hanging out in front of the Orangeville water tower and cradling a puppet before walking into a field of crops, exploring the town and frolicking through the fields.
This comes from the Canadian half of Niagara. The album drops on September 30 through Tin Angel Records.
