John Oates has announced a Reunion. No, not a reunion with Daryl Hall — that's just the name of his new album. Reunion will be out on May 17, and the title track is out now.
Oates said in a statement, "The idea for writing a song about a 'Reunion' came to me when I began to think about the true definition of the word." Hmm, I wonder why Oates, one half of famously feuding pop duo Hall & Oates, would be thinking about the true definition of a reunion?
The single was co-written with A.J. Croce and recorded in Nashville. Hear it below.
According to a press release, "Reunion tells a tale of love, loss, and personal rediscovery framed in a sonic palate of lush acoustic production." Players on the album include Bela Fleck, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Sierra Hull, Guthrie Trapp, Tom Bukovac, Russ Pahl, Paul Franklin, Steve Mackey, Marc Rogers, David Kalmusky, Greg Morrow, Josh Day and Nathaniel Smith.
