Icelandic neoclassicist Jóhann Jóhannsson's score for Prisoners recently got a vinyl pressing, and now he's been confirmed as the composer for another film: Theory of Everything, the upcoming film from director James Marsh.
The movie, which is due out in 2015, takes its name from a lecture collection by Stephen Hawking. It's about the relationship between the physicist and his first wife, Jane Hawking (née Wilde), who he met shortly before he was diagnosed with ASL (a.k.a. Lou Gehrig's Disease).
Written by Anthony McCarten, it's inspired by Jane Hawking's 2007 memoir Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen. It stars Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones as the Hawkings, with other actors including Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Harry Lloyd, Lesley Manville and Maxine Peake.
This isn't the only upcoming Jóhannsson-scored film. The thriller McCanick will receive a wide release this Friday (March 21), while the European indie drama I Am Here (starring Kim Basinger) is due out later in 2014.
