Joey Bada$$ and Ab-Soul Detained by Police in St. Louis

Currently on tour together as part of the "Smokers Club Tour," Joey Bada$$ and Ab-Soul hit a snag when they were arrested last night (October 28) in St. Louis alongside Kirk Knight and another Pro Era affiliate.

Details are scarce as to why they were arrested, though context clues (like the fact that their tour is called Smokers Club) suggested it was likely a marijuana-related arrest.

Since the incident, DJ Statik Selektah, who is also on the Smokers Club Tour, has tweeted that no one is currently in custody. As for the reason for the arrest, he described it as "typical police racism," adding that the tour will go ahead as planned.

UPDATE: Speaking to Hip Hop DX, Statik Selektah shed further light on the incident, saying that no one was actually arrested and only detained by police. He said: "The cops were profiling because Joey and Ab were walking through the hotel parking lot to the bus. I was inside the hotel working when it happened, but by the time I came out, the cops were gone and the hotel security told me how it was bullshit… The cops felt dumb as fuck after they realized they were fucking up. [It was] basically profiling gone wrong. They saw the tour bus, passports, etcetera."

Whatever happened last night, Bada$$ and Ab-Soul were filmed while being booked by police. An Instagram video, which can be streamed below, shows Bada$$ mugging for the camera, cracking jokes about the incident.
