Joe Lally Announces North American Dates, Plays Montreal, Toronto

BY Gregory AdamsPublished Aug 9, 2011

Since Fugazi went on hiatus nearly ten years ago, bassist Joe Lally has made a rep of his own via a series of sublime solo albums. We described his latest set, the Exclaim!-approved Why Should I Get Used to It, as a mixture of Miles Davis and the Minutemen, with Lally supplying "some of the richest grooves and startling playing of any record he's been a part of." If you need to be further convinced of dude's talents, he will be flexing his chops this fall on a North American tour.

Considering Lally relocated from Washington, DC to Rome, gigs on this side of the pond are bound to be few and far between from now on, so you might want to check one out. Canuck fans will be treated to two shows: one in Toronto and another in Montreal. Check out the schedule below.

Making things extra special, the bassist will be joined by cellist Helen Money on all dates.
