Dark pop-rock songwriter Jody Glenham was supposed to play a hometown show at the Lido in Vancouver on April 2. Obviously, that show didn't take place, and to make up for the cancellation, she has shared a psychedelic video for the new single "Talking Out Loud" featuring past performance footage from the Lido.
The song is a dreamy, synth-laced pop tune that sound a bit like a modern take on Stevie Nicks at her most goth-y. The accompanying visuals put Glenham's live performance through a kaleidoscopic haze of neon colours. It captures the often-trippy experience of watching a band at the Lido.
A statement accompanying the video explains:
On April 2, 2020 Jody Glenham was meant to play the Lido Psych Pub in Vancouver, BC, to celebrate the release of the new single, "Talking Out Loud." The Lido closed temporarily on March 16, 2020 due to Covid-19. Matt Krysko projected existing footage through his unique video visual feedback system to create the illusion of the band playing the venue. Vancouver loves the Lido and we look forward to live music returning to it's stage.
