Summer Witch Music? Say no more. Shoegaze meets psychedelic rock in Jody Glenham's "Flowers," the latest single from 2020's Mood Rock LP that has now been treated to a new video.
The clip arrives just in time for Gemini season and finds Glenham cast as a one-person band — called the Mood Rings — to back herself while wearing an array of wigs. It seems like the kind of jack-of-all-trades thing that could make the multi-instrumentalist considered the MVP of Vancouver's local scene.
Bursting with colour and wind chimes, Glenham plaintively sings us through her association of various flora to thoughts of a beloved. A tale as old as time blossoms anew with her velvety timbre and the song's dreamy soundscape.
