Yet another sneak peek of JJ DOOM's upcoming Butter Version of their Key to the Kuffs LP has arrived ahead of the August 20 due date, this time via an alternate version of "Guv'nor" as prepared by Toronto conceptual hip-hop trio Badbadnotgood .
Badbadnotgood put their fingerprints on the track by swapping out the clanking, merry-go-round groove of JJ Jneiro's original beat in favour of cavernous electronic ticks, slapshot snare hits and marshmallow soft synths. Lyrically, it appears to be an all-together different take on the track as well, with DOOM dishing on BBQ recipes, Sodom and Gomorrah and more.
You can sample the re-do down below.
The Butter Version will be issued by Lex Records, and includes remixes from Beck, Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood, and Dave Sitek, as well as three new tracks.
