We haven't heard much from Justin K. Broadrick's post-Godflesh, post-metal unit Jesu since their 2013 release Every Day I Get Closer to the Light from Which I Came, but the frontman took to Twitter this morning to confirm that a new project is in the works.
In less than 140 characters, Broadrick announced that he's been working on a new record, and that it will be a collaborative effort between Jesu and Sun Kil Moon.
As pointed out by Pitchfork, the two have worked together and referenced each other's work before; Sun Kil Moon frontman Mark Kozelek released Jesu's 2009 LP Opiate Sun on his Caldo Verde label, in addition to covering Godflesh track "Like Rats" and mentioning Broadrick by name on Sun Kil Moon's "The Possum" — a song about hanging out at a Godflesh show.
Details of the forthcoming collaborative effort remain pretty scarce at the moment, though Sun Kil Moon will release their latest album Universal Themes on June 2 via Caldo Verde.

A lot of questions about a new Jesu record, I've been working on it for some time, it's a collaboration LP between Sun Kil Moon and Jesu.
